Blog Assignment#13

Alabama Learning Exchange(ALEX)

ALEX is a website that share different types of educational material and information that is in accordance with the Alabama State Standards. This information can be used by teachers, students and parents. It has resources like lesson plans, web links and interactive activities for SMARTboards. ALEX is a very good website to find insightful resources dealing with education. ALEX is a one stop resource site that allows you to follow links that are educational for the students. It is set up to where one can either choose: Courses which allows one to pick by subject or grade level, web resources in which teachers can look for links as wells students, and lesson plans that teachers can create or look up one by subject. The lesson plan access for teachers I believe is awesome. This allows teachers to create, share, and a chance to change up their lesson plan to help keep the students excited about learning. ALEX also has a great link that we all should used and that is the Alabama Virtual Library. This is a great website.

ALEX even provide a section for professional learning that gives information about professional development opportunities. It also provide information about tips and tricks that can be used for incorporating technology in the class or school. ALEX even has a section about podcast treasury. This section has different podcast that can be reviewed by teachers, students, and parents. It even takes one through the steps on how to create your own podcast. There is no reason why technology should not be incorporated in the classroom with websites like ALEX available. ALEX is a great site to use and one can even keep track with the latest ALEX news, communicate with your colleagues and different learning communities through ALEXville. ALEX is a great site that future teachers should use and share. It has a lot of great information and resources that follow in the Alabama standards guidelines.
